UNDERSTANDING DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants can help patients restore their confidence and get their smiles back. You don’t have to worry about your missing teeth anymore with dental implants. Dentists recommend dental implants because they are a permanent solution that can withstand the test of time, unlike dentures or bridges. These titanium screws are rugged and long-lasting. They will last a lifetime because they fuse directly to the jawbone. So, forget about having to replace them every so often like other treatments or have a fear of falling out as dentures do. Imagine what it would be like to smile with confidence again!
Patients with upper jaw restorations won’t need to worry about the time to complete the procedure, as it takes only a few hours. Dental implants can replace missing teeth, and they are also used in full-mouth restorations. They are the best way to restore a healthy smile, and they last a lifetime with proper dental care. However, if the patient is missing most teeth, it will be necessary to have dental extractions.
KNOWING THE DENTAL IMPLANTS PROCEDURE
At Dobson and Frye Family Dentistry, Implants and Braces, we employ our expertise to perform dental implant surgery. Our dentists use pressure-controlled drills to insert titanium posts into the patient’s jawbone. In some cases, platform switching—using implants with thinner diameters to preserve the alveolar bone levels around the posts—can be used to ensure that the result is a beautiful smile.
Some patients require a bone graft before they can place artificial roots. For example, if your jawbone density is too low, you may need a bone graft to strengthen the jaw and allow proper implant placement. However, the bone graft will add six to nine months to your treatment time as it takes your body time to grow new bone.
Mini implants may provide an alternative for patients who cannot undergo conventional dental implant surgery. These implants are thinner than standard ones, making them easier to place in a small amount of bone. A sinus lift may also be needed during surgery.
The patient will go through a healing period of six months, during which time the bone, nerves, and gums will fuse around the replacement tooth. This process is called Osseointegration.
The patient will have appointments with the implant specialist during the recovery period to ensure that the surgical site is healing properly.
In the lab, specialists used computer-aided design and manufacturing technology to fabricate an implant-supported dental restoration, which will be ready as soon as the patient’s jawbone has completely healed. When the new repair is in place, the patient will have a beautiful smile that can last for a lifetime.

TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS IN AZ
All-on-four: The All-on-4 dental implant solution is a permanent, fixed prosthodontic that replaces teeth in the upper or lower jaw or whole mouth. It uses four implants in each arch for supporting dentures. It will take time for dentures to be placed appropriately to allow Osseointegration; however, the patient will be provided temporary dentures.
Same-day dental implant: Same-day dental implants are a great alternative to traditional dentures that require several weeks of healing time before new teeth can be put in place. Patients who choose same-day dental implants can smile, eat, and speak immediately after a complete procedure.
Mini implants: The mini implant is a viable alternative to traditional implants for those who want to avoid surgery or lack sufficient jawbone. These implants are suitable for patients who don’t like big orthodontic braces. The results of mini implants are comparable to regular dental implants, but they are much smaller.
